Governing Body
THE GPP FEDERATION GOVERNING BODY
Welcome to the Governor’s section of our website.
At the GPP Federation – which includes Glebe Infants, Pauntley Church of England Primary, and Picklenash Juniors – we are proud to support our schools in delivering an inclusive, high-quality education for every child. As governors, we are united by a shared ethos of Faith, Family, Flourish, and the board’s motto of children at the heart of every decision. We are committed to helping every pupil thrive in a safe, caring and ambitious environment.
Our Role as Governors
Governors are volunteers from a wide range of backgrounds, including parents, staff, local businesspeople, and members of the wider community. Together, we bring a rich mix of skills and experience to support and challenge school leaders.
Our core responsibilities are to:
- provide clear strategic direction and uphold the schools’ ethos and values;
- hold senior leaders to account for pupil outcomes and staff performance; and
- oversee financial decision-making to ensure public funds are used wisely.
We work closely with Mrs Kelly, our Executive Headteacher, and the senior leadership team to help shape the schools’ long-term goals and ensure their successful delivery. While we are not involved in day-to-day management, we do play an important role in monitoring standards, developing policies, and ensuring that staff have the resources they need to succeed.
Seeing Our Schools in Action
We meet regularly to discuss progress and priorities, and also visit the schools to see learning in action. Whether through learning walks, pupil conferencing or reviewing children’s work, these visits offer valuable insight into the life of our schools – and are among the most rewarding parts of our role.
Our Church School: Pauntley CofE
At Pauntley, the Christian faith is at the heart of school life, however we are an inclusive community and welcome all beliefs and religions. Guided by Christian values such as kindness, respect and hope, the school nurtures each child’s spiritual, moral and academic development. Regular collective worship, strong links with the local church, and a thoughtful approach to RE help shape a distinctive and caring school community. As governors, we support and celebrate the school’s Christian character and its commitment to helping children grow in both faith and understanding.
